Toronto consistently ranks highly on the world’s best travel destination lists. On Monday, Hotels.com published its Hotel Price Index report which revealed that Toronto is the “most popular Canadian destination for international travellers.” The 6ix was respectively followed by Vancouver, Montreal, Niagara Falls and Calgary thus completing the top five.
With attractions galore, it’s no surprise that the city is favourite for international and domestic travellers. However with so many things to do and such little time (or money), which places should make your sightseeing list? I’ve compiled a list of top T.O. attractions and will let you know whether to see it, skip it or wait until the admission price is more budget-friendly.
The CN Tower
Unpopular opinion: Skip! Unless you’re doing the Edge Walk (hey, baller!), the CN Tower is a fancy skyscraper that charges $38 for adults and $28 for children between four and 12, to ride the elevator. The view of the city is spectacular, but you can get the same experience by going to TD Bank Tower, pretend that you’re going to Canoe on the 54th floor, and peer out the window for free.

For $195.00 you’re able to walk along the edge of the CN Tower 356m/1,168ft above the ground. CN Tower
The Distillery District, Kensington Market & China Town
See! They are fun, easy to walk around, have some great finds (who doesn’t love shopping?), budget-friendly eats and most importantly, are free.

Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada
See! The admission ($37 for adults; $25 for youth 6-13; and $20 for kids 3-5 ) is worth every penny. Ripley’s is beautifully designed, has breathtaking creatures and will bring the kid out of everyone. This allows entry from 7:00 pm until 11:00 pm at a reduced rate — $30 for adults; $20 for youth 6-13; and $7 for kids 3-5.
